I've been making flowers. Flowers from the '70s. Flowers shaded with crayons, colored pencils, and water colors. The deep coral rose was colored with a crayon named Radical Carrot. Yes, crayon!
The secret is in the starch used to stiffen the fabric. A cornstarch, water, and glue mixture allowed to dry on fabric makes it almost like paper. Oh, how I love vintage craft books.
I received my new camera today, so I'll document just how easy it is to create your own time–warp flowers tomorrow. Any other vintage craft book recommendations out there?
Thanks,
Aimee
